London is layered with history, where medieval and Victorian complement a rich and vibrant modern world. The Tower of London and Westminster neighbor local pubs and markets, and time-worn rituals like the changing of the guards take place as commuters rush to catch the Tube. It’s a place where travelers can time-hop through the city, and when they’re weary, do as Londoners do and grab a “cuppa” tea.

We arrived at Heaththrow and took the underground to Ravenscourt in Shepards  BUSH and walked  to our Airbnb.  Our hosts were fantastic.
￼ we were on the top floor in a small room of their house yet their hospitality made our visit amazing. 
￼ We walk to the River front Thames
￼ And ate in  our first pub!!!!

Saturday, Oct 14 - Arrival in London

Stayed in an Airbnb room in Shepherd Bush (the most lovely welcoming couple ever ) It was walking distance from the Ravenscourt underground. We took the tube to Piccadilly Square where we bought tickets for  the hop on hop off bus.  
Hopped off at Westminster Abbey. Chapel saw the buildings of parliament and the beautifully re-finished Big Ben! ￼ Since  it was Sunday they had a service at the Westminster chapel that we attended.   ￼
We hopped on the bus again, which was a little confusing of where to find the Stops. ￼ And hopped off what we thought was close to the Globe  theater. But it was quite far away.
￼ We paid five dollars each for standing only tickets to see “as you like it “ at the Globe theater.  
￼ It was magical, fun, and being a Groundlings made the whole experience amazing
Afterwards we tried to get back on the tube . ￼we wandered around  London trying to find an open tube station . Finally discovered they were shut down due to construction so decided to take an Uber.
￼ I was starving so, even though I don’t eat red meat, we went to Steak  and Shake and I gorged myself on the french fries

Sunday, Oct 15 - London

- see Macbeth at the Globe 
Take the Tube to Westminster Station, visit Westminster Abbey
- Walk to the Churchill War Rooms, near St. James's Park Tube Station
- Stroll through St. James's Park and see Buckingham Palace

Monday, Oct 16 - London

Join a guided round trip tour from London to Stonehenge and Bath.

Thursday, Oct 19 - Train to Edinburgh, Scotland
